Dive Brief:

  • Tory Burch has appointed Christophe de Pous to the newly created role of president of North America, according to a Monday press release sent to Fashion Dive. He begins June 3.
  • Prior to his hire, de Pous was president of global/international markets at beauty conglomerate Clarins. He previously served as president and CEO of Gucci Americas, and before that, he was president and CEO Gucci Japan, per the release. In the new role, de Pous will oversee North America retail, e-commerce and wholesale operations.
  • The company also announced the hire of Beverly Morgan as chief people officer as well as the promotion of Emilia Fabricant to president, chief merchandising and global supply chain officer. Morgan joins Tory Burch from LVMH-owned Benefit Cosmetics, and will also start June 3. Fabricant, who has been with the company since 2019, will assume her new position immediately, per the release.

Dive Insight:

All three executives will report to CEO Pierre-Yves Roussel, who was named to the company’s top spot in 2018. Roussel, former chairman and CEO of LVMH Fashion Group, married Tory Burch, the brand’s namesake founder and current executive chairman and chief creative officer, in 2016

“Christophe and Beverly are seasoned executives with deep experience in the luxury industry and I look forward to working with them as we continue to build on the great momentum of our business in North America while scaling the brand globally,” Roussel said in the release. “I am also very pleased to recognize Emilia’s contributions to our business with the appointment of her role to President.”

The company said in the release that de Pous’ role with the company will complement its “strong regional leadership in APAC, China, Japan, Europe and the Middle East.” He will be based in Tory Burch’s New York headquarters, per the release.

Morgan, who will also be based in New York, comes to the company with more than 20 years of fashion, beauty and retail industry experience. Before her role as Benefit’s chief people officer, she held talent management roles for Alexander Wang and Hugo Boss, per the release. She succeeds Keisha Smith.

Meanwhile, Fabricant began her career at Tory Burch as executive vice president and chief merchandising officer before becoming chief supply chain officer in 2023.

“I am happy to welcome Christophe and Beverly and to acknowledge Emilia’s expanded scope of responsibilities,” Burch said in the release. “It is an exciting time for our company and I could not be more appreciative of our entire global leadership team.”

Tory Burch was founded in 2004. The company offers ready-to-wear, handbags, footwear, accessories, jewelry, home and beauty.

The company’s first fragrance and beauty collection debuted in 2013, and in 2019 Shiseido and Tory Burch signed a long-term beauty partnership. With two new hires from beauty backgrounds, the company will have a leadership team experience in the sector, should it decide to explore that division more extensively.

While Tory Burch is privately owned, Forbes has estimated that the company “sold an estimated $1.75 billion worth of clothing, shoes, accessories and fragrances in 2022.”
