She might look casual, however that price is anything but.

If Kendall Jenner's Met Gala look made you catch your breath last Monday, then her footwear option the next morning will no doubt take it away entirely.

Because, while it may seem as though she's simply swiped the hotel's complimentary slippers for her short trip to the car waiting outside, they are – in actual fact – the pièce de résistance of this full look by The Row.

Of course, if Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen – the designers behind the highly-desired, high high end fashion label – have given them their seal of approval, no one can really argue.

Even if you are one of the world's most popular modern-day models.

And even if said slippers do cost more than most people spend on a months' rent.

But while many of us may struggle to justify casually dropping £960 on a pair of slippers, let's assess why they actually cost that much.
