Hers looks significantly more glamorous than the one I'm wearing right now, if I'm being honest.
Jennifer Lopez has done some truly memorable things with her hair at Met Galas past. Remember when she chopped it off right before she arrived on the red carpet? Or how about that super-long, super-textured ponytail she topped off with a cowboy hat? We always expect some serious style atop J.Lo's head when it comes to any event, but what I didn't expect for the 2024 Met Gala is that she'd be wearing the same messy topknot I'm currently wearing while sitting in my borderline-pajamas on the couch writing about celebrity Met Gala looks.
OK, so it's not the exact same bun I'm wearing because while mine is, in fact, messy and textured and high-set, hers actually looks gorgeous with the custom Schiaparelli gown she's wearing — a sheer yet crystal-covered creation that's topped off with a stunningly ornate diamond choker.
Stylist Lorenzo Martin is responsible for the lofty, voluminous, textured topknot, which sits high but not directly on top of Lopez's head. Instead of going for the sleek base she often prefers, Jennifer's hair looks finger-combed, with loose little pieces at her hairline. The length of her hair is wrapped ‘round and ’round, but not tightly, allowing the bun to look its fullest.

Lorenzo was kind enough to share exactly how he styled the co-chair's hair, starting with applying Tresemmé Mousse Keratin Smooth Hydrating Hair Treatment before rough-drying with the Shark Flexstyle Sparkle Air Styling & Drying System until it was not dry but damp. He gave her texture with the device's curler attachment and then ran a mixture of Tresemmé Weightless Silk Serum, Tresemme Freeze Hold Hairspray and Tresemmé Mega Control Hair Gel through her hair with his fingers. He created a ponytail and teased the ponytail to make hair look messy, securing it with a hair elastic and pulling the hair halfway through, creating a loop that's held in place with a bobby pin.

The surprisingly low-key look actually pairs perfectly with her makeup and nails, which are ethereal yet subtle — something you can wear to both the fanciest fashion event of the year and your BFFs dive-bar birthday party. Thanks for keeping it real, Jennifer Lopez.
