We're digging it.
Ashley Graham went meta with the “Garden of Time” theme at the 2024 Met Gala. While we expected to see plenty of florals (which in fairness did snake their way up her black sequin dress), we weren't expecting to see garden tools make their way into the outfits of the A-listers heading down this year's green and white carpet.
But, as soon as she stepped foot in front of the camera's at the Metropolitan Museum of Arts on Monday night, Ashley's hairstyle made us do a double take.
While the lengths were piled up into a high mussy chignon – wrapped to look loosely like a rosebud at the back by her hair stylist, Justine Marjan, the front featured a new fringe, fashioned out of hair pieces from Covet & Mane. Justine cut the fringe into short baby bangs, then took what looks like a wide-tooth comb to the style to create jagged separation and gelled it into place.
Take a step back and the silhouette looks remarkably rake-like, which definitely fits with the “Garden of Time” theme – chosen loosely to represent fleeting beauty and to complement this year's exhibition, Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.
The rake shape could quite literally sweep us away and its equal parts cute and fierce. But it's a little rakish in the traditional sense of the word too, with its jaunty, old-school debonair charm.

We love a celeb that understands the assignment, takes a risk and serves up a look that's out-there and experimental and Ashley Graham ticked every box.
So, for a hairstyle that truly channels the meaning of this year's Met Gala, we have to say, we're digging this.
