H&M Studio’s Resort 2024 collection just might be my Roman Empire

The Italian vibes probably have something to do with it.

If you've a finger on the pulse of SS24 fashion trends, you'll have noticed one distinct theme throughout: escapism. In fact, the H&M Studio Resort 2024 collection is centred around it – so much so that it's got me booking flights for my next trip away.

Inspired by dreamy Italian palazzos, shell-adorned grottoes and Venetian trinkets, this capsule truly channels that holiday state of mind we all seem to be in RN. Think: sunset colour palettes, flecks of gold, joyful patterns and floaty fabrics. Everything you could want to pack in your suitcase, then.

“A bold spirit of fun energises this H&M Studio Resort capsule, with creativity and attention to detail adding intrigue and depth to every piece,” says Ann-Sofie Johansson, head of design and creative advisor at H&M. From the Roman-esque sandals to the gothic prints and toga-style draped detailing throughout the lookbook, it's easy to see exactly what she means.

Launching on the 9th May (i.e. in less than a week), it's come at just the right time for everything from your annual girl's weekend away to a fortnight of travelling the best Greek islands.

If you're usually an over-packer (guilty as charged), you've even more reason to browse. As H&M Studio's collection designer Angelica Grimborg says, there's plenty of “versatile pieces that effortlessly take you from morning sunrise by the pool to late-night parties on the piazza”, so if that's not incentive enough to bring less, there may be no helping us after all.
