The boho look is back in a big way.
We’re going back to the ’70s…with our wardrobes, at least. The crochet skirt, a favourite of the free-spirited decade, has reconfirmed its status as a fashion essential just in time for the upcoming warm weather. In fact, the boho style has come for dresses, trousers, swimsuits, and just about every other piece of clothing in your wardrobe.
So, how can you wear this skirt trend for summer 2024 in a way that feels fresh and modern?
We suggest taking inspiration from Moschino’s spring/summer 2024 show—the last before Adrian Appiolaza takes over as artistic director—where the crochet skirt was presented as a joyful fashion statement. When you’re shopping the look for yourself, opt for playful, colourful, patchwork variations to invoke those retro summer vibes.

However, Moschino isn’t the only fashion house initiating a return to ’70s fashion. Chloé in particular won over those in attendance with wispy, feminine creations. Even more brands (and celebrities) are embracing the bohemian aesthetic through crochet skirts. There’s Dua Lipa in a mini version in Miami, as seen below, as well as skirts both long and short from Farm Rio, Free People, River Island and others.
