“Barry Keoghan, can you fight?”
Following in the footsteps of celebrity spokesmodels Lana del Rey, Alex Cooper, and Usher, Sabrina Carpenter made her Skims campaign debut in colourful lacy lingerie. Her shoot leans into a super-feminine aesthetic, and the reactions — especially from her new boyfriend, Barry Keoghan — are the opposite of chill.
In the pictures, which you can see here, the “Nonsense” singer poses in a floral bedroom that seems to be staged as if it’s in the late ’90s and early ’00s (Carpenter herself was born in ’99). In one picture she uses a cordless phone; in another she listens to music on a personal compact disc player. Even though there’s a pink boombox right behind her and the posters on the walls are very ’80s hair metal. Oh, whatever, she’s in her underwear and her blowout is immaculate. When Victoria’s Secret decided to abandon the “bombshell” gimmick, Skims saw an opening and took it!
As opposed to most of the Skims products, which are meant to be an under layer and come in neutral and skin tones, Carpenter is modelling the frilly, pastel-hued pieces, which more closely adhere to the look she’s developed on stage.

The top comment, naturally, is from Carpenter’s bf, Saltburn star Barry Keoghan, who wrote, “?? barbie emoji.” Almost every reply is some version of “can you fight,” which is fandom-speak for “I am attracted to your partner.” Fellow musician Julia Michaels commented, “Am I supposed to feel.. things? ❤️?” and Kehlani added “oh ur eating.” Truth.

Sabrina Carpenter is fresh off the Eras Tour, where she opened for Taylor Swift across Asia and Australia. When the tour starts again in May, Swift will be accompanied by the band Paramore, then Gracie Abrams toward the end of the year, so Carpenter is free to work on other projects. Maybe a follow-up to her 2022 album Emails I Can’t Send?
